LEGAL · SITE TERMS
A short, readable set of terms, separate from the engagement letters that govern live mandates. The point is clarity, not legal theatre.
These are website terms. Your engagement letter, when signed, is the document that controls scope, fees, confidentiality and liability for the work itself. If anything below conflicts with a signed engagement, the engagement wins.
Why this page is short instead of long.

Hidden gotchas, if a clause is consequential, it is written here in plain English.
CLARITY OVER LENGTH
"If a legal page is so long that nobody reads it, it stops protecting anyone."
These terms are deliberately short, and the engagement letters they sit alongside are unambiguous about scope and risk.
WEBSITE VS ENGAGEMENT
Two separate documents, one public, one private, keep responsibilities clear. Both are written to be read, not skimmed.

These terms govern your use of this website and the public-facing material we publish. They do not replace a signed engagement letter, which governs every active mandate between Alpha Oak Partners and a client.
Content on this site, including pathway pages, insights articles, FAQ entries and forms, is general information only. It is not legal, tax, immigration, investment, regulatory or accounting advice.
Decisions on cross-border structure, mobility, capital and operations must be taken with counsel tailored to your facts. We are happy to be that counsel; until then, please treat the site as orientation.
You agree to use the site lawfully, not to misuse forms or contact channels, not to attempt unauthorised access, and not to use automated tools in a way that could harm performance, security or other visitors.
The Alpha Oak Partners name, oak-leaf identity, written content, graphics and page architecture are owned by the partnership or licensed to it. You may quote short extracts for review or commentary with attribution; everything else requires written permission.
Where you contact us about a possible engagement, we treat the substance of the conversation as confidential from our side. We do not, however, undertake mandates by email alone, a written engagement letter sets the formal scope, fees and confidentiality terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Alpha Oak Partners and its members exclude liability for loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the public material on this site. Where the law does not permit certain exclusions, for example for fraud, personal injury or non-excludable statutory liability, our liability is limited to the minimum permitted.
Liability for matters under an active engagement is governed exclusively by the signed engagement letter for that mandate.
Where we link to government registries, regulators or partner firms, those destinations are operated by their owners. We have no control over their content, terms or privacy practices.
These site terms are governed by English law, without reference to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes about this notice are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protections give you the right to litigate locally. Engagement letters carry their own choice of law and forum, which prevail for matters arising under them.
We update these terms when our practice or applicable law materially changes. The date at the top of this section is the latest revision; continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance.
Send a short note via the Contact page and a senior member of the partnership will reply. We will not pretend a website page is the whole agreement, and we will not hide behind one either.
